Overview.
The Laskasas project dates my first experience designing Virtual Reality Experiences. Working as a freelancer and closely together with Pedro Guerra on a virtual reality project empowered by VR360, we’ve contributed with the design and prototype concept of an immersive and interactive Virtual Reality Showroom Experience for the furniture design brand Laskasas.

Goals
Design the interface for the 3D showroom.
Collect data from the users before entering the visit.
Display the brand’s products of the 3D space.
The Challenge
We were challenged to design the interface for a 3D showroom experience.
The Solution
The approach for this project was to create an immersive and non-intrusive experience from collecting user’s basic information to its interaction with the brand’s products.
Research
Visiting a space digitally is still a very distant experience, and people who are not interested enough drop out of the experiences when they get requested for their personal information.
Since it is a 3D showroom, the user would benefit from full flexibility to access the products from anywhere in the visit. Pedro Guerra guided the research and lead with the creative direction.

We decided to design the tour from the perspective of a tour-guide, giving the user a sense of guidance.
HOW MIGHT WE...
The Brand
design & Development
First, the guide welcomes a visitor through a warm and non-intrusive dialogue, while requesting for the user’s personal informations.
Entering the visit, the user is free to explore at his own pace. But the guide is always there and available to help.
Other features like opening a map of the configuration, viewing the products on the tour, quick side navigation and much more have been added to provide the user with an easier showroom walk through.

Final Thoughts
Working on a project empowered by VR360 and alongside with Pedro Guerra was a very exciting and enriching opportunity, and in addition to learn about a new medium for brand storytelling and explore new tools.
