Overview.
This is one of my firsts Graphic Design projects. I was already involved in the Digital Painting environment, but I was missing to build the bridge between Art and Design. Thanks to Bruno da Costa I started to understand how I could take advantage of how the Art and Design fields intersect with eachother.

Goals
Design a product to feature Hip Hop fan art.
Explore typographic styles and textures.
The Challenge
In conversation with Bruno da Costa, I was challenged to create some album designs with the fan art illustrations of some Hip Hop Stars that I already had create to expand my skillset and visual knowledge.
The Solution
A TOP 10 songs mixtape design was an exciting opportunity to expose the artwork and play with typefaces and textures, since the characters were already designed.
Research
A minimalist and classic approach is usually preferred by the Hip Hop community, and some of the most iconic albums are very simple and clean.

The focal point would be the character illustration, because the album is made of the Artist's TOP 10 songs.
HOW MIGHT WE...
The Brand
design & Development
The character is placed as the main subject of the product and highlighted with the help of the typography.
The wider typeface fills a bigger space of the canvas, while the narrower typeface gives some extra informations without calling too much attention. On the back, a close up of the character helps set the mood and the list was placed to reference the songs.
Final Thoughts
The design on the back would need improvement, specially on the written content (the song list). However, the 2PAC's Top 10 Album Design was a fun project to stretch my illustration and grasp some new graphic concepts.
